Prior to joining the team, Leila had recently completed an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience at University College London (UCL). She also has experience as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist in Inpatient Mental Health within the NHS. Currently, Leila holds the role of Research Assistant for the mTOR pathway diseases node. This project, as part of Rare Disease Research UK, endeavours to unite 14 rare individual mTOR pathway diseases as a single group to improve diagnosis, treatment, and clinical outcomes for mTOR pathway disease patients. Alongside her work with the mTOR pathway disease node, Leila works part-time as a support worker for a disabled adult.
