About

Richard completed his undergraduate medical education at the University of Oxford before working as paediatrician in various London hospitals. He currently works on a number of different research projects, using EEG recordings and functional imaging to understand network dynamics in childhood epilepsies.

He is interested in better understanding how specific molecular abnormalities in childhood can cause epileptic seizures in the human brain, as well as trying to find non-invasive markers on help diagnosis. He is an active member of the King’s-Somaliland Partnership providing medical research education to doctors at Somaliland medical institutions.
