ASHG Conference, Vancouver 2016

Shan attended the American Society of Human Genetics Conference in October to present her paper on SMARCA2 mutations in Nicolaides-Baraitser syndrome and Myoclonic astatic epilepsy. The American Society of Human Genetics Conference is the largest Human Genetics conference and this year was held at the picturesque Vancouver Convention Centre. The latest scientific advancements in Genetics were on offer with outstanding presentations and in excess of 3000 abstracts to view! The gnomad genetic sequencing population database was launched during the conference. This will provide genetic information for more than 140,000 healthy individuals and help reshape our impression on genetic mutations discovered in our patients.
